Although the Canadian election was just called on Sunday, it will be held on October 14, giving them a mere 36 days to get to the hysterical level it has taken the American election more than 19 months to reach. Give them E for effort though:
Campaign promises from the Tories and the Liberals were overshadowed by controversy Tuesday following apologies from both camps for embarrassing gaffes, including an animated puffin pooping on an image of Stephane Dion and a mea culpa from a Grit candidate for likening Prime Minister Stephen Harper to Hitler.
Well, a pooping puffin is probably funny, but maybe you don't want it pooping on Stephane Dion.
But, doesn't anyone remember what Hitler did? You might compare Pol Pot to Hitler. Saddam Hussein. Idi Amin. But Stephen Harper? Get a grip.
Update: Thanks to LHPS for pointing out to me that the Hitler incident was a year ago. Not exactly fresh news.

Ummm... the Hitler thing was from over a year ago and by an individual Liberal. The other tasteless stunt was on a national party website. Hardly a comparison.
